Planmeca ProModel receives Innovation 2016 honorary mention

The dental industry Innovation award was once again handed out at this month’s Finnish Dental Congress and Exhibition in Helsinki, Finland. The award and accompanying honorary mentions are given to companies or associations which have developed a product, service or technology in a way which has significantly improved treatment, patient safety or the working conditions of the dentist.

3D technology improves patient safety

Planmeca ProModel™ service received Innovation 2016 honorary mention. Planmeca ProModel manufactures patient-specific implants, surgical guides and CBCT imaging-based skull models for surgery and surgical pre-planning. The 3D technology offered by the service both reduces operation times and improves the accuracy of the surgical procedures compared to conventional methods, resulting in safer procedures, shorter recovery times and better aesthetic results.

The ground-breaking technology is a demonstration of Finnish expertise both nationally and on the world stage and was instrumental in e.g. the first Nordic facial tissue transplant procedure earlier this year.
